Cake Recipes

10” round holds 4 to 6 cups of batter
12” round hold 7 ½  cups of batter

A 4 tier cake takes 8 cake mixes
1 ½ small chocolate grooms cake

Traditional Wedding Cake(White Almond Sour Cream Cake)
2 boxes white cake mix
2 cups all-purpose cake mix
2 cups granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp. salt
8 egg whites
2 2/3 Cups water
4 TBS. vegetable oil
2 Cups Sour Cream (16 oz. carton)
2 Tsp. clear vanilla flavor
2 Tsp. almond extract

Mix all dry ingredients by hand using a whisk in a very large mixing bowl.  Add the rest of the ingredients and beat on low speed for 2 minutes.  Bake at 325 degrees takes and hour or more
One recipe makes:
one 14 round & one 6 round
one 16 round
12 & 10 round
12 & 18 Sheet cake
12 & 8 & 6

Mint Chocolate Chip Cake

1 box of milk chocolate cake mix
1 bag of Andes mints- frozen
Substitute coffee for water
Can substitute applesauce for oil

Chocolate Espresso Cake

1 box of dark chocolate cake mix
8 squares of semi-sweet chocolate- again use better chocolate for taste
Substitute water for strong coffee
Add applesauce or sour cream for moisture
A pinch of my Special Secret ingredient

For a Lemon Zinger Cake
Try any of these combination's:
1 box of lemon cake mix
1 box of lemon pudding. Opt.
1 box of lemon gelatin
Substitute water for real lemon juice
Add 1 tsp. of lemon flavor

Asking yourself how much would a three tier cake be?

18 cups sifted all-purpose flour
6 tbs baking powder
3 lbs of unsalted butter
12 C sugar
24 eggs(separated)
6 C milk
2 Tbs Vanilla

+ icing

Lots of work!!!
