Starter Friendship Bread

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and

today is a gift:

That's why they call it the present."

Elenore Roosevelt

Live each day to the fullest and try not to regret anything you have done or said and apologize if you do. It will make you feel better and you will be a better person.

Try to live in another persons shoes.

Be the bigger person and Forgive.

A man told me once when I offered to pay him for helping me.

That God put us on this earth to help each other.

It would truly be a better world if everyone did.

Hope everyone has a great and wonderful day!!

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

It is very important to use plastic or wooden utensils and plastic or glass containers when making this. Do not use metal at all!

Ingredients:

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F)

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water for about 10 minutes. Stir well.

2. In a 2 quart glass or plastic container, combine 1 cup sifted flour and 1 cup sugar. Mix thoroughly or the flour will get lumpy when you add the milk.

Smell of Bread

With winter hopefully in the past (you never know about Texas weather), cool breezy nights upon us, I smell bread.  Someone was baking bread and it smells so good.  Comfort food.  So I break out the bread maker and start making bread.  I do not use it to bake the bread, I do not care for the way it looks when it is done, so I just use the dough mix, and bake it in the oven.

Here is a basic bread maker recipe-

Ingredients

Water  1 cup
Skim Milk Powder  1Tbs.
Shortening   2 1/2 cups
Sugar  2 Tbs.
Salt  1 tsp.
White Flour  3 1/3 cups
Yeast  1 1/4 tsp.

You add the ingredients just as they are listed and turn on to your dough number.  Approximatly 1hr 30 min later take out the dough put in a greased bread pan and I refold the dough and make it the shape of the pan, not a tight fit, let it rise for a little bit.  Put a little shortening on top for a pretty brown, and stick it in the oven 350 degrees for 30 min.  Take it out, but butter on top and let it cool while the aroma is filling up your house.

Testimonials for Tecnu

Recently I Blogged about Tecnu, and how to send a story about your experience using the product.  I submitted my story to tell them about an exceptional product, I did not even think of the possibility of receiving anything from them.  Today I received Staph A'septic and a couple of informative pamphlets with coupons.  WOW!
I will tell you how this Staph A'septic works as soon as I use it, but I have no doubts it will be just as great as Tecnu.
I hope you guys submit your stories as well.  This is a great company and product.
